Barrie Professional Firefighters Association

These awards were established through the generosity of the Barrie Professional Firefighters Association, who are continually working in conjunction with their community partners in order to find new ways to improve the lives of the citizens of the City of Barrie.

John Wilcox Auto Extrication Award
The award is presented to two full-time students, one from each program cohort, in the Pre-Service Firefighter Education and Training program at the Barrie Campus. Recipients will demonstrate leadership skills, academic merit (GPA of 70% or higher), and outstanding practical performance in class.

Bill Wilkins Memorial Award
Presented to two students who have demonstrated a combination of leadership skills, academic merit, outstanding practical performance and are deemed most likely to succeed in the firefighting field (1 recipient from each cohort).
