On Sept. 20, 2023, Georgian announced a multi-year partnership with Great Gulf to launch an Innovation Award Suite to help support sustainable skilled trades education. This collaboration includes scholarships and exclusive access to Great Gulf’s facilities for applied research.

Great Gulf Engineering and Environmental Technologies Entrance Scholarship
The Scholarship is presented to two full‐time students entering into one of Georgian’s advanced diploma programs in the Engineering and Environmental Technologies academic area. Recipients must demonstrate academic excellence (minimum GPA of 80% based on entering grades) and financial need.
Great Gulf Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Award
The Award is presented to two full-time students entering either the Artificial Intelligence –Architecture, Design and Implementation or the Big Data Analytics post-graduate certificate program. Recipients must demonstrate academic merit (minimum GPA of 70% based on entering grades) and financial need.
Great Gulf Skilled Trades Award
The Award is presented to two full‐time students entering one of Georgian’s skilled trades programs, specifically one of the following: Cabinetmaking; Carpentry and Renovation; Construction Techniques; Electrical Techniques; Gas Technician; Plumbing Techniques; Welding Techniques; Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician; and Mechanical Technician –Precision Skills. Recipients must demonstrate academic merit (minimum GPA of 70% based on entering grades) and financial need.
Great Gulf Sustainability Award
The Award is presented to a full-time student enrolled at Georgian College. The recipient leads sustainability-related initiatives in their educational and/or professional careers. Students will demonstrate a commitment to advancing changemaking attributes and furthering the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The recipient will demonstrate academic merit (GPA of 70% or higher).
