Presented to a student enrolled in any program at the Orillia Campus who has experienced a significant event or events, while responding as either a first responder or military, which impacted him or her physically and/or mentally. The individual must have gone through recovery to overcome the physical and/or mental obstacle(s) that he or she received from the experience(s). The individual must also have given back to the community in some way based on his or her experiences as a first responder. Applicants must clearly demonstrate how they meet the criteria in their cover letter, detailing their recovery process and how the experience led them to give back to their community through volunteer work.
