Toronto Hydro plays an important role in Ontario’s electricity system – not only are we responsible for delivering electricity to approximately 785,000 customers in Canada’s largest city, we also distribute approximately 18% of the electricity consumed in the province.

Toronto Hydro Co-op Award
Presented to an Electrical Engineering Technology student enrolled in their second year. They must be in good academic standing (70 per cent or higher), secured a co-op placement with Toronto Hydro and express an interest in pursuing a second co-op at Toronto Hydro. The recipient also demonstrates a strong interest in the utility profession and pursuing a career at Toronto Hydro. Recipients must be a permanent resident of Ontario and demonstrate financial need. In their application, students will describe in detail their interest in the utility profession and how they meet the criteria. Must also include explanation of how this award will assist the applicant financially.

Toronto Hydro Leadership Award
Presented to students who are enrolled in any year of the Electrical Engineering Technology program or the Electrical Engineering Technician program who demonstrate academic merit (70 per cent or higher) and who have completed, or are currently completing, a co-op placement at Toronto Hydro. The recipients must demonstrate a strong interest in the utility profession and pursing a career at Toronto Hydro. Preference will be given to applicants from the Greater Toronto Area. Toronto Hydro seeks individuals who embody their core competencies of Build Strong Relationships; Demonstrated Customer Focus; Develops Culture and People; Champions Change Productivity and Innovation; Demonstrates Commitment to Sustainability, Environment, Health and Safety; and Drives Results and Accountability. Recipients of the award may be eligible for annual renewal based on criteria requirements. Recipients will be invited to re-apply and to be considered, must submit an application each year that includes a cover letter outlining how continued support would benefit them. Renewal of this award is at the discretion of Toronto Hydro.

Toronto Hydro Women in Engineering Technology Award
Presented to two female students entering their first year of the Electrical Engineering Technology or Technician program at Georgian College. Student recipients must demonstrate academic merit (minimum 70% GPA). As part of their application, students will provide a brief submission about their education and extracurricular engagement to date and their passion for pursuing a career in the engineering sector.

Toronto Hydro Electrical Engineering Entrance Award
Presented to two students in their first year of the Electrical Engineering Technology or Technician program at Georgian College. Student recipients must demonstrate academic merit (minimum 70% GPA). As part of their application, students will indicate a strong interest in the utility profession, why they are pursuing engineering/ utility sector and how this award will help them achieve their long-term goals.

Toronto Hydro Electrical Engineering Award
Presented to a student in their second or third year of the Electrical Engineering Technology or Technician program at Georgian College. Student recipients must demonstrate academic merit (minimum 70% GPA). As part of their application, students will indicate a strong interest in the utility profession, why they are pursuing engineering/ utility sector and how this award will help them achieve their long-term goals.

The Toronto Hydro Ukrainian Student Entrance Bursary
This bursary is presented to incoming international students who self-identified as being impacted by the conflict in the Ukraine. Preference will be given to students enrolled in the following programs: Electrical Engineering Technology or Technician program; Electrical Techniques (1 year); Electrical Technician (2 year); Electrical Technologist (3 year); Mechatronics (3 year); or Technical Trades programs including Environmental Technology; Construction Techniques; or Mechanical Technician.
