Tourism Barrie

Tourism Barrie is the official destination marketing organization for the City of Barrie and provides a full range of information on events, accommodations, attractions, arts & culture, dining, shopping, museums, corporate travel, and much more to tourists and community members alike. We have established this award in an effort to support the local tourism industry by encouraging students to pursue careers in the tourism sector. Tourism Barrie is ecstatic to support students from across the world as they embark on their educational journey at Georgian College.

Tourism Barrie’s message to students is to make sure you pursue your dreams, no matter how challenging they may seem. There are never ending opportunities that exist in the tourism and hospitality industry, don’t let fear of the unknown hold you back from your perfect career. Be hungry for knowledge and face new challenges head on. We wish you the best of luck in your time at Georgian College.

Tourism Barrie Scholarship
This award is presented to a returning, full time student in the Tourism program. The recipient demonstrates financial need, volunteerism, and has developed professionalism and commitment during a work term in the tourism industry, preferably in the Barrie area. The recipient will explain their career goals in the tourism industry and what tourism means to the economy in the community as part of their application. Student must be a permanent resident of Ontario.
