Academic Upgrading Staff and Faculty in memory of Dave Parr

Dave Parr was a longtime faculty member, teaching math in the Academic Upgrading program. He was respected for his passion for helping students earn the required credits and skills necessary to excel in post-secondary and apprenticeship. He was a quiet, humble man with a wry sense of humour and great intellect. Dave believed in the potential of each upgrading student and loved working with them. He passed away after a brief but acute illness in 2017.

To our students: Don’t give up! Students come in and out of our program several times before they are successful. We realize “life” sometimes gets in the way but we are here to help you on your journey.

This award is presented to a math student in the Academic Upgrading program at the Orillia campus who has shown academic achievement and a drive to succeed in their future studies.
