Georgian College Education Abroad Scholarship

Presented to students enrolled in a full-time* college or university program, in good academic standing and who demonstrate financial need. Applicants must be planning to complete an international academic study, work study, internship, co-op placement or student exchange semester abroad that is recognized by Georgian College and is part of the applicant’s academic program in order to be eligible for the scholarship. If the student is part of the student exchange semester abroad, they must be returning to Georgian College once their semester abroad is complete. Students must be registered, or be able to confirm registration, for their international academic study, work study, internship, co-op placement or student exchange semester abroad upon applying for the scholarship. The scholarship is given to the recipients prior to their international academic study, work study, internship, co-op placement or student exchange semester abroad as the intent of the scholarship is to be used towards the expenses of their program such as travel, books and lodging.
*In this instance, full-time meaning 60% of a full course load. A student with a disability will be considered enrolled full-time if attending 40% of a full course load. NOTE: Cover letter must describe the length, timing and details of the international academic study, work study, internship, co-op placement or student exchange semester abroad and how this experience will enhance their educational goals. It must include a detailed budget outlining the cost and expenses of the international academic study, work study, internship, co-op placement or student exchange semester abroad that the student will incur and include any savings the student has for their time abroad. A custom budget by the applicant can be included with the cover letter in addition to the template that the student must complete when applying online.

    Once you enter the name and email address of the individual you are requesting a reference from, an email will be sent inviting that individual to complete a reference questionnaire. It is advised that you notify the individual you are requesting a reference from prior to entering their information.
