Board of Governor's Medal Award

Presented annually to a graduating full-time student graduating from a Credential Validation Service and Board of Governors approved program (i.e. Ontario College Certificate or Diploma program of at least one year in duration). The recipient has achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 80 percent. The recipient had demonstrated leadership in the college and/or in the community through involvement in athletics and/or other extra-curricular activities (e.g. Auto Show, Shinerama, student events, student peer tutoring, etc.). The recipient has also demonstrated an ability to balance academic and extra-curricular activities, achieving a recognized level of excellence in both. The recipient cannot be the successful candidate of the Governor General’s Award. Please note that you must supply three letters of reference that confirm leadership and/or community involvement.

Supplemental Questions
  1. In order to be eligible for the Board of Governor's Medal Award you are required to provide three separate references that confirm leadership in the college and/or in the community as specified in the award criteria.

    Did you submit a Community Involvement Reference and Character Reference in your General Application? If you answered NO then you are required to go back to your General Application and complete those two reference sections, in addition to the reference request below to be eligible for the Board of Governor's Medal Award.

  2. Character Reference

    Please provide the name and email address of an individual who can serve as a reference in support of your application for award, scholarship, and bursary opportunities that can comment on your leadership qualities and involvement in extra-curricular activities, including on-campus initiatives. Do not use a relative or immediate family member.

    Once you enter the name and email address of the individual you are requesting a reference from, an email will be sent inviting that individual to complete a reference questionnaire. It is advised that you notify the individual you are requesting a reference from prior to entering their information.
