Tonglen Foundation Award
Presented to a student entering their first year in any of Human Services diploma programs, Practical Nursing, Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing, Pre-Service Firefighter Education and Training, Paramedic, Advanced Care Paramedic or Personal Support Worker program, full-time or part-time, at any campus of Georgian College. The recipient demonstrates the desire to help others and will continue to make a positive impact within their community, and those around them, through their chosen profession. The recipient also demonstrates great financial need and without the support, would not be able to continue with their studies.
Applicants must clearly demonstrate in their application how they meet the criteria, their financial situation and how the award funds will support them.
Previous recipients may be invited to re-apply for the award in each year of their program. At this time, the student will be required to submit an application form along with answering a question on how the funds they were awarded assisted them and how they could benefit from receiving the award again. The student must remain in good academic standing, frequent or multiple switches, drops, withdrawals and/or repeats of programs may be considered lack of academic progress and direction.
