Dr. Michael Kennedy Community Change Agent Award

The award is presented to a full-time second-year student in the Social Service Worker program at Georgian. The recipient will demonstrate academic achievement (GPA of 75% or higher) and a passion for social activism and community involvement. As part of the application, students will describe their community or campus engagement and social advocacy/activism and their commitment to facilitating change and shaping policy for the benefit of marginalized communities (i.e., advocacy in areas which could include, but are not limited to, mental health, mobility, race, ethnicity, gender and sexuality, and economic status). Preference will be given to an applicant who self-identifies as being part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Recipients must be a permanent resident of Ontario.
